Cookie Policy

Last updated 20 August 2026

The short version: GeoLIP uses only what it needs to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We run no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking, so there is nothing here to opt out of.

What we store

NameTypePurposeLifetime
Session tokenEssentialKeeps you signed in between pages. Without it you would have to log in on every click.Until you sign out or it expires
PreferencesEssentialRemembers interface choices — map layers, list or map view, filters you left applied.Until you clear your browser storage
Shortlist (signed out)EssentialLets you shortlist projects before creating an account. Stored in your browser, not on our servers.Until you clear your browser storage

Some of these are stored using your browser's local storage rather than as cookies. The distinction matters technically but not to you: either way it is data kept in your browser, and this page covers both.

Third parties

We load fonts and JavaScript libraries from public content delivery networks so pages render quickly. Those providers see the request your browser makes for the file, including your IP address. They do not receive your GeoLIP account details, and we do not use them to track you.

Project images are usually served from the developer's own systems, so loading a project page makes a request to that developer's server.

Analytics

Where we measure how the site is used, we use privacy-preserving analytics that set no cookies and do not follow you across other websites. We are interested in which pages are useful, not in who you are.

Your control

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data — usually under Settings, Privacy. Blocking the essential items above will sign you out and lose your shortlist, but the site will otherwise work.

Consent banners exist for cookies that are not strictly necessary — mostly advertising and cross-site tracking. We do not use those. Should that ever change, we will ask you first rather than assume.
